the back story

When you are a college student you have to plan ahead. Friends and family start asking you about your summer plans the December before. Its a little overwhelming.  I made my summer plans in March 2011. After studying abroad in London, England the summer before I knew I needed to do something with the similar sense of adventure and independence, but on a smaller budget. It made sense to pursue something on Mackinac Island. My family has owned 2 condos on the Island for as long as I remember. Living on the seemed like the perfect fit. Now I needed to find a job. I applied at some stores, bike shops and at Arnold Ferry Company. I went to the career fair at my university and met with their recruiter and GOT A JOB! It was so exciting! I leave for the Island the second weekend in May. Its coming up quick, this blog will document the ups, downs, and craziness of Island living.
